Privacy notice
Written to be read, not to be survived. This page says exactly what we collect when you contact us, why we hold it, who else sees it while your order is produced and shipped, and how to make us delete it.
Last updated · 2026-08-05
1 · Who we are
Jutery ("we", "us") develops and exports jute bags from Dhaka, Bangladesh. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice.
Registered name: [company name]. Registration number: [number]. Registered address: [address], Dhaka, Bangladesh. For anything about your data, write to the address in section 12 — it reaches a person, not a queue.
2 · What we collect
We collect only what we need to answer you and, if you become a customer, to produce and ship your order. There is no account to create and no profile built about you.
| What | When | Why we need it |
|---|---|---|
| Name, company, work email | You submit an enquiry or email us | To reply to you and to address a quotation correctly. |
| Phone or WhatsApp number | Optional, if you provide it | To reach you faster when a specification question would otherwise cost days. |
| Country, destination port | You submit an enquiry | To estimate freight, duty exposure and lead time. |
| Enquiry content, quantities, target price, artwork link | You submit an enquiry | To cost the product and build a tech pack. |
| Order and shipping records | If you place an order | To manufacture, inspect, export and invoice, and to keep the accounting and customs records we are required to keep. |
| Quote list and language choice | You browse this site | Stored in your own browser only. See section 4. |
We do not collect payment card details on this website, and we do not ask for personal identity documents, dates of birth or any special-category data. If you send us something we did not ask for, we will delete it.
3 · Why we are allowed to hold it
If the UK or EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to you, these are our lawful bases:
- Legitimate interests — replying to a business enquiry you sent us, and normal business-to-business correspondence about supply. You can object at any time and we will stop.
- Performance of a contract — everything needed to produce, inspect, ship and invoice an order you have placed.
- Legal obligation — invoices, export declarations and customs records we must retain under Bangladeshi tax and export law.
- Consent — only if you ask to receive occasional updates that are not about a live enquiry. Every such message carries an unsubscribe link, and withdrawing consent is one click.
4 · Cookies and local storage
This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies. It uses your browser's local storage for two things, both of which stay on your device and are never transmitted to us on their own:
jutery.lang— the language you chose, so the site opens in it next time.jutery.quote— the styles you added to your quote list. This is sent to us as plain text only if, and when, you submit the enquiry form yourself.
Clearing your browser data removes both. Nothing on this site breaks if you do.
Fonts are currently served by Google Fonts, which means your IP address reaches Google when a page loads. If you would rather that did not happen, we can self-host the fonts — and if you are an EU buyer with a strict policy on third-party requests, tell us and we will.
[If you deploy analytics, name the tool here, say whether it uses cookies, whether IP addresses are truncated, and how a visitor can opt out. If you deploy nothing, say so — that is a genuinely good answer.]
5 · Who else sees it
We do not sell, rent or trade your details. We share the minimum necessary with these categories of recipient, and only for the purpose stated:
| Recipient | What they receive |
|---|---|
| Form and email providers | The contents of your enquiry, in order to deliver it to us. Acting on our instructions as processors. |
| Manufacturing partners | Your specification and artwork, if you place an order. Your name and contact details are not passed on unless you ask us to introduce you, and our vendor agreements require confidentiality. |
| Inspection agencies | The order reference and specification, so they can inspect against the approved sample. |
| Freight forwarders, C&F agents, customs | Consignee name and address, order and invoice detail — the information that legally must appear on shipping and customs documents. |
| Banks | Invoice and contract detail needed to process a transfer or letter of credit. |
| Accountants, auditors, advisers | Transaction records, under a duty of confidence. |
6 · International transfers
We are based in Bangladesh, so if you are in the EU, UK or another region with transfer restrictions, contacting us necessarily involves your data leaving that region. Bangladesh is not the subject of an EU adequacy decision.
Where we transfer personal data out of the EU or UK, we rely on the derogations that fit ordinary trade correspondence — the transfer being necessary for a contract with you, or for pre-contractual steps you requested — and we will enter into Standard Contractual Clauses on request. Ask, and we will send them.
7 · How long we keep it
| Record | Retention |
|---|---|
| Enquiry that did not lead to an order | 24 months from the last contact, then deleted. |
| Customer correspondence and specifications | For the commercial relationship, plus 24 months. |
| Artwork and tech packs | For the commercial relationship. Deleted or returned on request at any time. |
| Invoices, export and customs records | As long as Bangladeshi tax and export law requires, and no longer. |
| Marketing consent records | Until you withdraw consent, plus a minimal record that you did. |
8 · Your rights
Subject to the law that applies to you, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy.
- Correct anything inaccurate.
- Delete it, where we have no overriding legal reason to keep it.
- Restrict what we do with it while a dispute is resolved.
- Send it to you, or to another supplier, in a portable format.
- Stop processing it on the basis of legitimate interests, or stop marketing to you entirely.
Replying to any message from us with the word "delete" is enough to start this — you do not need to write a formal request or cite an article number. We will confirm within 30 days, and there is no charge.
If you are in the EU or UK and think we have handled your data badly, you may complain to your national data protection authority. We would rather you told us first and gave us the chance to put it right.
9 · Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Enquiry data sits in business email and a spreadsheet or CRM with access limited to the people working on your order. We use two-factor authentication on the accounts that hold customer correspondence.
We are a small company and will not pretend to hold certifications we do not. What we can promise is proportionate care, a short list of people with access, and prompt honest disclosure if something goes wrong.
10 · Children
This is a business-to-business website and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16, and will delete it if we learn we have.
11 · Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and move the date at the top. Where a change materially affects people who have already contacted us, we will say so by email rather than quietly editing the page.
12 · How to reach us
Email is the fastest route and reaches a named person:
- sales@jutery.com
- +880 1521 244240
- Tejgaon Industrial Area, Dhaka 1208, Bangladesh
This notice is published in English, Spanish, French, German and Arabic. Where a translation differs from the English text, the English version is the one we are bound by.
